Carl and Fran are accomplished seasoned hospitality professionals with over 20 years experience in hospitality and business development. Carl and Fran strive to consistently provide excellent service, delicious food & drink.
They opened the doors to the Portside Cafe & Restaurant in September 2019 and have been welcomed by the community as the successful owners of a iconic multi-award winning Maryborough business.
Andrew joined Portside in June 2021 and brings extensive kitchen experience from cafes, restaurants, resorts, banquets, and bistros. He studied in Hobart, Adelaide, and Sydney, and has traveled extensively throughout Australia and Europe. Growing up in a boat-building and fishing family, he has a strong connection to the sea and enjoys using local produce, making pasta, and preparing seafood dishes.

What an unexpected surprise. We enjoyed a lunch on the veranda overlooking the river and were treated to some of the most delicious Mexican food we have experienced. The food was so fresh and well presented. Homemade corn chips, stunning chicken, and very generous serving side. This is well worth a visit. We drove up from Hervey Bay and if you’re looking for a great day trip then we highly recommend. - Paul H
